Are you looking forward to Christmas?
We all have been living unusual times and are looking forward to our lives going back to "normal." Yet, I am so grateful that in this time at home, I have enjoyed so much of my family, we have tried to use this time to learn new things, to finish past projects, to exercise, to pray together, to prepare complicated family recipes, and so much more.
So in three words, we have been: Eating, Praying and Loving...yes, like in the movie (or book).
We have tried to live and enjoy the "now", doing all what we can do to stay healthy and finding courage to continue with our lives.
Today that it is almost the last day of July, (I can't believe it) I want to share a new Christmas family tradition, that started last year on how to use your decorated cookies this coming Christmas.
It was almost Christmas and I hadn't baked the cookies for my family, so I thought that it would be good if my daughter could help me on the decorating part, and as she was decorating the cookies, I was wrapping presents and the idea to put the cookies on the presents came along. It was such a nice touch to the presents that everyone really seemed to enjoy.
One thing that you need to remember is that Christmas cookies need to be delicious, click here for a great recipe.
If you are looking for a royal icing recipe you can watch this video on YouTube and here in the blog this tutorial will be helpful. Click here
Grandparents will love to receive a cookie decorated from their grandchildren, and will love the originality of each of the cookies, remember that the cookies don't need to be perfect, they need to be delicious and will need the most important ingredient...LOVE!
And, am I looking forward for Christmas?....Yes, I am looking forward for Christmas!! but I am also looking forward to live one day at a time and to enjoy things that I didn't enjoy in the past and continue baking cookies for you all.
Enjoy the last days of Christmas in July 2020 ...
