I am so happy that in my family we finally had the time to build this haunted house, as you can see here in my blog, I love to make and build gingerbread houses and I will explain tell 4 mainly reasons why I love to make them.
- The gingerbread cookie dough it is super simple and fast to do you don't need a mixer and is ready in a jiffy.
2.You can make a ginger bread house for any occasion, it does not have to be just for Christmas season.
3. When I make gingerbread houses I need help and it is always a family project, so I love the part that is a very social activity and it requires team work to be successful in building it.
4. LOVE how my house smell when the cookies are baking!
I think that if I think a little bit more I still can find more reasons why I love to make this kind of cookies.
In this project I used a lot of edible glitter, sanding sugars and royal icing.
For this occasion we made a Haunted mansion gingerbread house, it was not very easy, because it was a rainy day, I made the cookies with a lot of intricate cut-outs and this make the cookies very fragile, but after all the house came out really nice.
I recommend that when you are going to make gingerbread houses make 2 pieces of each piece of your house, so if one breaks, so have an extra piece.
I also like that when you are building it, you need to be creative and think out of the box and find little things the can help you support all the pieces in place.
This Halloween might be very different for most of all of us, but we will need to find a way to still have fun and visit with our neighbors and be sweet with the kids in our neighborhood in a safe way.
I think building this little haunted house will be a great activity for all ages in this Tick or Treat 2020!
